Precise diagnosis in technological management:
Pitang advises and your company leads the way
Nordeste (Northeast) is one of the largest groups of security companies in Brazil, formed by Nordeste Segurança, Transbank, Norsegel and Soservi – the latter providing institutional cleaning services. Until May 2005, each of these companies ran its own IT management, which tended to hinder communication among the different areas of the group.
In order to deal with this situation, Nordeste required a complete audit to diagnose the needs of its technological management – and C.E.S.A.R was the ideal solution. For two months a team from C.E.S.A.R, our R&D partner institute, undertook surveys, conducted interviews and analyzed information from the four companies comprising the group, formulating a precise diagnosis with suggestions for standardized processes, improvements and investments directed into three areas: Technology, Systems and IT Management.
With respect to Technology, C.E.S.A.R recommended using corporate platforms like Java or .NET and the Internet for remote access and better utilization of the companies' technological resources. As for Systems, the recommendation was to focus on the systems in the operating areas, with support sectors automated mainly through market systems. Finally, with regards to IT Management, C.E.S.A.R advised the use of a software factory to develop new systems, guaranteeing technology transfer and intellectual property rights for the company. |
